Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) for Adults, Teenagers & Elderly People
This form of treatment is used for alcohol or drug dependence. It involves the use of exploration of the consequences of drinking behavior or drug use. It does not attempt to directly guide or train the client but employs strategies to enable internal motivation for changing the client’s behavior. This form of treatment is different from direct approaches as it emphasizes personal responsibility for change. In other words the client himself or herself takes steps to formulate a plan for quitting alcohol or drugs.
